Our other investments are mainly in agriculture, knitwear and manufacturing sectors, but our presence in terms of investments in these sectors is quite low.
We have three investments in agriculture and three in knitwear. There are four investments in the manufacturing sector. Agriculture has significant value to the Shetland economy at £13m annually, whereas the knitwear sector is considerably smaller at £2.5m.
However small the sector, we recognise the benefits they bring to the overall economy and are keen to support each industry. As well as commercial investments, we have also sponsored events such as Flavour of Shetland and the Johnsmas Foy.
