SHETLAND DEVELOPMENT TRUST SUPPORTS PURCHASE OF GEORGE ROBERTSON (ELECTRICIANS) LTD
 
Following the conclusion of the business deal, Shetland Development Trust can announce that it has provided a loan of £120,000 to Lewis Moncrieff, Anna Stout, Andrew Grant and Andrew Simpson to purchase the business of George Robertson (Electricians) Ltd.  Today is the first week of business trading for the new management team.


The electrical retailer, service provider and contractor has been trading for 40 years, employing nine staff.  The new directors will use their existing experience gained from working in the company to take forward the business.


Shetland Development Trust’s lead project manager, Sheila Keith, said: “By supporting this project, Trustees have given an enthusiastic and experienced young team the opportunity to build on the success of the business and continue its excellent reputation for high quality service and workmanship that has been established by its former directors.


“The young team have over 33 years combined experience working for George Robertson (Electricians) Ltd.  They have shown great commitment to the project and plan to invest significantly both in time and money to take the business forward.”


Director, Anna Stout said: “ We are all really looking forward to the challenge of running this well established business.  We hope to retain the loyalty of all our current customers and encourage any new customers to come along to the shop to discover the wide range of products and services we provide. 


“We will now be open to the public between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Saturday including the lunch hours and can offer free quotes for any products or electrical contracts however large or small.”

George Robertson Ltd’s core business is as an electrical retailer, service provider and contractor.  The four new directors will be taking responsibility to develop the business for the future whilst each focusing their expertise in core areas of their business.


Lewis Moncrieff and Andrew Simpson will be responsible for the electrical contracting, repair and maintenance including PAT testing, fire alarm and security systems.


Anna Stout will be dealing with all aspects of the shop and its accounts.  Our main brand range includes Zanussi, Electrolux and AEG.  We will also be expanding to include ranges such as Frigidair refrigeration and Range Master cookers.


Andrew Grant will be responsible for all aspects of the domestic and commercial appliance repair including refrigeration.
