We encourage the development of renewable energy generation technology in Shetland. The development of renewable energy is very important not just to Shetland but globally. We want to help develop Shetland as a centre of excellence in this field.
Shetland Aerogenerators Ltd:
SDT provided an equity investment to the Company to build and operate five wind turbines. The project has proved very successful since its inception.

PURE Energy:
SDT have supported PURE Energy to develop hydrogen fuel cell technologies. The company are developing a hydrogen fuel cell car which the Trust has provided financial assistance towards.
